About the Spring unit:

We started with the 368 coil Hinge Flex Offset design unit. The Hinge Flex coil is offset that means the ends are squared off on each coil to make an efficient hinge action when the coils are laced together to make the innerspring unit. The unit has more durability than other units causing less friction on the wire due to the offset design. No roll together coils work independently, more sensitive to body contour because of the easy hinging action. Less sway coils don't twist and weave.

We also include the Superior Edge Flex System. This system adds more support on the end and the sides of the mattress. A lot of people are trying to tell you that their foam encased coils are better, but let's be honest... Steel outlasts foam any day. With the Superior Edge Flex System your springs extend all the way to the end of the mattress. Unlike those foam encased mattresses, that replace the last few inches of the mattress with a hard Styrofoam-like foam, you are getting the lasting support and quality of steel.

On top of your spring unit are several layers of fine upholstery. These layers work together to create the perfect sleep surface...

Layer1: The Superior Anti-Pocketing System keeps the insulation where it belongs. It stops the insulation from bunching or sliding or packing into the springs.

Layer2: Superior's HL2 Fiber Padding gives firmness and support to the mattress. It helps to create a more smooth surface so you don't feel the springs.

Layer3: Next we put 2-inches of Ortho-Firm HD4 Foam Insulation on top of the HL2 Fiber Pad. This High Density Foam is firm enough to add support as well as comfort. Since we only choose the high quality components for our mattresses, you can rest assured that this HD4 foam is built to last.

Layer4: The Damask Cover with a Continuous Quilt Stitch tops off the mattress. The white color material is accented with the silver floral pattern for a very Elite Look.

This mattress is a part of our DS Line. The DS Line is our Deluxe Sleep Line. And All mattresses made in the DS line are able to be turned. There are a lot of mattresses out there that have all your insulation on one side but with the insulation on both sides of the mattress you get almost twice the wear out of the mattress. While nobody likes the hassle of flipping and rotating a mattress it is for our own good. It is the same reason we rotate the tires on our car. And the same reason we rotate the cushions on our couch. It gives us more even wear and lasts longer! Flipping and Rotating your mattress on a regular basis allows the one side to recover while you are sleeping on the other side. Some mattress designs work beautifully as a No Turn bed, but usually only when it has a special type of foam insulation such as Memory or Latex foam.
